I have been testing this and the color does not seem to be set immediately. Color only gets set when I move the control (ie from top to left) bar where the button is placed on. Edit: It seems the color also gets set when setting button text (sc.SetCustomStudyControlBarButtonText) after setting the color with sc.SetCustomStudyControlBarButtonColor. I can work with that.
