What you are describing sounds different than what is described in this link: 1913 - Main Chart Maximized not stable If I maximise the Chart Window within the Main Window and I then select another chart from the same workbook, the chart windows revert to 'restore' size (ie it de-maximises) instead of staying in the maximised state.
This is standard Windows MDI behavior. And is managed at the Windows operating system level.
