Somehow, I'm not getting it. As you suggested, I went to: Interactive Brokers Symbols: Options Format and studied the formats. Under IB Options, it gave an example of: SPY-OPT-20100331-110-P-SMART-100-USD for the SPY put option expiring Mar 31, 2010 at a 110 strike, 100 items. So for the GE put option expiring Jan 18, 2019 at an 8 strike price, 100 items, I entered: GE-OPT-20190118-8-P-SMART-100-USD but it said that the symbol was wrong. I also tried various other combinations like strike 8.00 or expiration 201901, etc, but nothing worked. In Sierra Chart, I tried File/Find-Symbol, and put my string in the Selected-Symbol box. Or File/Find-Symbol/Stocks/NYSE and then put my string in the Selected-Symbol box. But nothing worked. Can you show me how to do this right? Or if IB is impossible for this, is there an inexpensive extra data service that I could add to Sierra Trade? Thank you. |
