LMAX is like Bitmex, there is a "reduce only order", see "how do I close a postion via API" in the doc https://www.lmax.com/pdf/LMAX-Global-API-FAQs.pdf "You can do this by constructing a “ClosingOrderSpecification”. This allows you to place a market order in the opposite direction of an existing position, which closes out a given quantity. " This prevents you from being able to open opposite orders on a close.
