Dear Sierra

I have read the various articles on SC data but still have 2 questions.

1) The .scid files for the symbols seem to vary in size dramatically even though I am downloading the same data range for each file. For example my Global Setting is 500 days (IDSTU = 1 second) which commences on all files around 15 June 2012. An example would be the GBPUSD which is 533MB whereas EURCHF is 298MB. Why is this and could I have a data issue in my Historical Data files?

2) I'd like to reduce the size of these files without adversely affecting my ability to review the data at a later date.

a - To reduce the file size I see that I can select various increments of storage time units. Does this mean that if I select 4 second units my real-time update of the Historical Data, post download will save in 4 sec increments or is the Historical Data downloaded in 4 second increments and the real-time data in a different unit and if so what?

b - Will reducing the storage time unit from 1 second to 4 seconds result in a file size approx. 25% of the previous size as the material suggests?

Thank you in advance.
