To the SC engineering team from a very long term (over 10 years), very happy user of SC: I'll try to make this short and to the point, especially in view of the fact that I have just now read some encouraging posts from you guys, e.g., "This is in addition to a lot of other background development primarily related to porting Sierra Chart to another operating system (Long-term project)". Windows as a DISservice is not going to work for me. I've firewalled my LAN to prevent forced windows updates, but I find Windows 10 highly objectionable in so many other (and constantly changing) ways, that I have made a firm decision to abandon Windows if and when SC no longer runs on Windows 7. Before I start investing the time required to look into alternatives (for example, running SC under wine on my linux systems), I would like to just say: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not drop support of Windows 7 until you have a native linux port of SC available. I'm not asking for any promises, but can you offer any words of encouragement for those of us who are hoping for a native linux port of SC? Thanks for reading this ... |
