I had had this issue in the past, and as a workaround, have built both programmable keyboards and also Window's GUIs (for touch-screen) to send orders to distinct charts in Sierra Chart without needing a specific chart window being the focus. There are pros and cons to both the keyboard and the touch-screen. I currently use both a programmable keyboard, and also a touch-screen for my trading (the mouse is not used at all for trading). More information here using touch-screen to trade without having the operating system's focus on a particular chart is in this support thread - see Posts #13-#20 (except for Post #19). New Offering - Order Flow Trading Bots aka SceetoBots Attached is a picture of a Sierra Chart trading rig that uses both a programmable keyboard (Cherry) and also a touch-screen monitor (GeChic). Sierra Chart fully supports touch-screen trading - see this post: New Offering - Order Flow Trading Bots aka SceetoBots | Post: 142909 ...so you may want to look into a touch-screen rather than programmed hot-keys. I have found that using the touch-screen and programmable keyboard to trade (we don't really trade anymore, so much as we deploy bots to trade for us) was like getting our first TV with a remote....there was no turning back and getting a TV without a remote - and our first family that had power windows. Power windows made the hand crank windows obsolete. I think that once folks get used to trading via either a touch-screen or a programmable keyboard, the mouse becomes obsolete. |
