Post From: DOM Scale Freeze request

My discretionary (non-automatic) trading approach involves precise placement of limit orders. When I'm about to place a trade, I will move my mouse into the Buy or Sell column of the DOM. Once I've done this, I want the DOM scale to *stay*still* - no matter what price does - until I click to place the trade. Currently, no matter which of the scaling options I use, I encounter situations where the price scale moves under my mouse as I'm about to place a trade - especially in a fast-moving market such as we experienced last Friday. This is quite serious, as it can cause me to place a limit order at the wrong price! So I would like there to be an option: "Freeze scale when mouse in Buy or Sell column." Sierra is already detecting this mouse situation to draw the price highlight rectangle. So I would think the programming - to disable all scale movement when this mouse placement is detected - would be straightforward. In my view, this shouldn't even be an option, it should just always work this way! But others may not agree, so an option would be OK. I'm currently using the Trade DOM rather than the Chart DOM, in order to easily see a wider price range for order placement than may be present on my fastest chart - but this request really applies to both. I understand that I can move the scale manually to disable auto scaling, but then I lose the advantage of having the scale auto-adjust when I'm not about to place a trade. I don't want to have to be readjusting the DOM scale when I should be thinking about my next trade. Thanks for considering my request, Merlin Date Time Of Last Edit: 2018-03-07 17:06:41
