Observed Problem; getting a trade signal on a 4 tick reversal instead of 6 ticks; (fake signal off ZZ study) with Auto Trade System bar based Backtest & Auto Trade System Replay Backtest; Version 1625 or 1629 Chart Renko 2 tick with wicks; setups in attached pictures; Spreadsheet for automated trading set to use the ZigZag SG4 as one of the triggers; when SG4 <> 0 on row 3 then assume a reversal or depending on the setting row 4; What I am seeing is two versions; #1) row 3 is monitoring a reversal; the reversal is triggered to row 4 {4 ticks} (creating a trade), then when the reversal fails SG4 sets row 3 back to the value being monitored creating a false signal; #2) row 3 is monitoring the reversal signal, the at 4 ticks (sometimes) we get a reversal and the value moves to row 4, still a false signal; This is not occurring all the time; maybe 15% of the trades I am looking at; Zig Zag Setup; setup attached; High/Low; Calc mode 2 or 3; reversal 1.5 (6 ticks ESZ7); have used both modes 2 & 3; same result; Reversal amount = 1.5 points Number of bars required for reversal - 1 bar selected; I have used calc on bar close (in28) = yes & no; same results Sheet setup: attached; Signal on bar close = YES (I have used NO also, same result) I have tried (In 50) Strict signal on bar close evaluation; same result but varies SG4 row 3 like #1 & #2 mentioned above; Can you point me in a direction here? Could there be a misconception when using Renko bars? I can't finish testing the system until I can get consistent entry signals; examples attached also; Thanks. St. |
