Your trigger for engulfing patterns isn't quite right. True engulfing pattern (many of the best sources): An engulfing pattern is characterized by a candle whose BODY engulfs the previous candle’s BODY. If the engulfing candle’s high and low engulfs the previous candle’s high and low, the pattern is found to be more valid, but not required. Your engulfing pattern only triggers: If the engulfing candle’s high and low engulfs the previous candle’s high and low. This is too strict, and many good signals go unnoticed. Most principles in candlesticks rely on the open vs the close (body), not as much the tails. Can this please be changed? or have 2 categories of engulfing that differentiate between these two. IMO it makes no sense to have a pattern for engulfing if many of these slip by the system. I have attached 2 recent examples of the engulfing pattern existing but not a trigger in SC with your strict rule. Thanks Tom Date Time Of Last Edit: 2017-05-31 16:47:45
