Right now SC is working good again. Before the news an hour ago I had freezes, no data download after reconnect and delay. I am in Europe, Germany.
I'm also in Germany. Can you check the traceroute if you are also connecting to Equinix DC over NTT hops? I hope SC engineering have some influcence on how the DC connects. Right now I'm checking different carriers / connection methods to see if there is one that does not route over NTT. My VDSL and Cable unfortunately do. I have 15-20% paketloss right now. Clearly not an option to get realtime data in reliable manner Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-12-14 20:17:16

@SC Engineers Please let me know if you need anything to adress this issues. I can send over stats, traces, pings.... |

No not at all:
shit... There must be a lot of people having issues since weeks because of an NTT hop. I have this every day and it gets clearly notabele on the open, the close and when market gets fast. Are your good stats showing Lumen, Verizon or NTT in the trace? I need to find another way to get connected. |

This gateway shows also good stats for me. No paketloss and normal ping times. Question is how could you always connect to it?

Just a heads up to SC engineers: I located the issue. It is the peering from Cable and Wireless (Vodafone) and NTT in Chicago. Therefore I just ordered another internet connection with a different carrier - their peering to the US is much better. I hope the issue gets solved finally. Highly unlikely that NTT has an issue and Vodafone is know for a shitty backbone / peerings. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-12-15 00:04:27

@nosast Thanks for your comment. I have the same problem. Which carrier do you use now? And did you solve that problem? regards Rob |

@Robx I haven't switched carriers yet as the issue got resolved. It was a peering issue between C&W and NTT in NY-Datacenter. I'm monitoring the connection every few seconds to see any spikes in latency and get an alert immediately if it happens again. May look very closely in tomorrows FOMC volatility. I'm in Germany using a Cable Connection as my primary connection so your issue could be pretty different depending on how you connect to Equinix CHI. |

@SC Engineering I noticed some latency issues over the last days and started to investigate. Where there any known issues with Denali? Pingplotter to 142.215.18.147 shows massive packet loss Pingplotter to 142.215.18.148 has good latency values but my Denali usually connects to .147 automatically screenshots attached. |

We have had reports of this, but it is not on the Sierra Chart side or with our connectivity providers. It is somewhere else. Also ping tests, are often meaningless because pings could be ignored or throttled. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I just used the ping test to validate the stuttering of the feed I noticed. Checking right now after cash close latency is fine again and no paket loss. Is there a way to change to a different Denali IP? Would make lots of sense especially it's outside of your datacenter and another IP-route is taken to e.g. .148 compared to .147 like you see in the screenshots |

Yes you can control the server through Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings in newer versions. The setting is: CME Exchange Data Feed Server Address and Port Override.

@SC Engineering, what values for Server Address and Port can be put in to test a different connection? I would love to use a server at Aurora or at least not routed over 51.163.136.106 in Equinix CH1. According to my monitoring both IPs I know (.147 and .148) are routed over this specific router and this router is clearly the issue for jitter, latency issues and paket loss. I'm connecting via GTT into CH1. Maybe that issue is only related to the interconnect GTT to 51.163.136.106 Date Time Of Last Edit: 2023-11-08 19:39:43
