does enabling compression make a difference when data is compressed by default?

in sierra chart server settings, you can select "no compression" for "use real-time data compression."

but i noticed in the message log that even when "no compression" is selected, sierrachart compresses denali data by default so is selecting "standard compression" simply a case of compressing even more already-compressed data?

Compression cannot be disabled with some of the data feeds.
