Today and yesterday, I had selected "Disconnect from data feed", which is confirmed by
"Not Connected" on top right below toolbar.
I wanted only to review charts on disk, not update them.

Some minutes ago, Message Log started pumping out
"Notice: Your Sierra Chart usage time has ended! Restart Sierra Chart. |" time stamp.
Time stamps on files confirm today's updating.

So what is that "Dis" button supposed to do?
I don't want to disrupt my internet connection.

"My bad." I had to put more money in the meter... explains log.
Original question of disconnect button remains.

Ok, now that I paid for another month, "SC Historical data (Not enabled on package"
This morning I was able to view charts for FX and Futures, daily and intra.
Please walk me thru the settings/payments to get back to that happy state.

In the next release of Sierra Chart when you are disconnected from the data feed, you will not get the message indicating the usage time has ended.

The solution to the problem now is that you need to restart Sierra Chart since you have made a payment.

Restart Sierra Chart and on the Login window check the option that says "Force Login".

That worked. What should I learn from this?

Restarting should be enough without having to use Force Login unless a firewall is blocking the connection to the Sierra Chart server.
