Hello Everybody. Help Us Help You !!! Learning & Working with the studies can be extremely frustrating. Because of the order & organization of the: Settings and Inputs , the Subgraphs are not as bad. It would be WAY EASIER if the Settings and Inputs were in Alphabetical Order and have a another tab for just colors or some category that there is not a list of 100 items to try and REPEATEDLY Search through OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER trying to find the Input to adjust. It is horrible for interacting with the NUMBERS BARS and other studies, it makes it too difficult to learn and interact with.... What happened to the Alphabet? Seriously , Please... For Example , imagine going to the SUBGRAPHS Tab > Draw Style for a line and seeing this????? Being that line is maybe used the most??? Line Arrow Down Arrow Left Arrow Right Arrow Up Bar Bar Bottom Bar Top Box Top and Box Bottom Box Top Center Box Bottom Center Color Bar Color Bar Candle Fill Color Bar Hollow Custom Text Dash Fill Bottom Fill Rectangle To Zero Fill Rectangle Bottom Fill Rectangle Top Fill Top Hidden Ignore Left Side Tick Size Rectangle Line - Skip Zeros Plus Point Point On High Point On Low Right Side Tick Size Rectangle Square Square Offset Left Square Offset Left for Candlestick Stair Step Stair Step To Edge Star Text Text With Background Transparent Bar Bottom Transparent Bar Top Transparent Fill Rectangle Bottom Transparent Fill Rectangle To Zero Transparent Fill Rectangle Top Transparent Fill Top Transparent Fill Bottom Transparent Text Triangle Down Triangle Left Triangle Right Triangle Right Offset Triangle Right Offset for Candlestick Triangle Up X |

What happened to the Alphabet?
I agree with your sentiment. As a developer, I can see why this may have been done. This is only an assumption based on my 6+ years coding custom studies. I am not an expert C++ programmer, and I learn new things every day, but it does make sense. I assume new settings were added to the bottom of the list, because it was easier than taking a chance on breaking the menus for other settings. The first item on the list is number 0, the next 1, etc. Those values may be hardcoded in many places in the application, and the decision was made that alphabetical order was not a priority as more time would be spent fixing potential issues and debugging them, than playing it safe and adding new choices to the bottom of the list. This puts code reliability first and frees up developer time for other enhancements. I think of it as a minor annoyance. I don't know how hard it would be to sort all the subgraph draw styles, but it is something that many users have to deal with. |

Appreciate the feedback. That it is probably why there was no response from support team. The Numbers Bars & TPO are worse... It is a minor annoyance... every time you dive into any part of any study which is everyday. It would just be easier to learn more , do more and get the most out of Sierrachart if it was organized. You would be able to dive deeper and waste less time.... That is the point of the post. The organizational structure wastes a lot of time .... too much time interacting with. So the user pays over & over with their time.... Use the alphabet and put the colors for everything in their own tab...who gives a rip about the colors of anything? Still love Sierrachart |

there was no response from support team Here's why... The Chart Studies Window is being completely redesigned by SC Engineering. Patiently waiting but also quite anxious whether the new design will be better or worse. I really hope the engineers incorporate some good "user experience" features of IDE required by algo developers i.e. redo/undo, embed notepad++ like format and version control. The current design is exhausting with too many darn clicks required.
