Is there a way to get the open trade duration based only on the session hours I've set in Chart Settings? I'm trying to setup a stop loss move to breakeven over the course of 24 hours using the Trade Management by Study, and it works fine for order entries from Sunday evening to market close on Thursday (I'm using reverse session times: 17:00:00-15:59:59), but any orders placed after the 5pm CST open on Thursday to Friday 4pm CST require more complicated formulas which factor in weekends. The Trading: Profit/Loss Text does not output the trade duration to the spreadsheet and I've tried not loading the weekend data and calculating but it hasn't worked for me - please let me know if I'm missing something or if I'll have to continue with the manual calculation route.

The Session Times are not something that is accessible through any existing study, so there is no way to be able to reference them through the built-in tools in the system. But you can always manually enter the Session Times you are using in a chart to a Spreadsheet and then use them to do your calculation. It would require updating them if they are different for different charts, but this should not be too bad. Day session Start and End times appear in cells J75/J76. Evening session times are not output. |
