I am wondering if there is any functionality in Sierra Chart for exporting historical data. I have seen another support question that was similar, but the solution at the time was to use ASCIL to make exports on multiple symbol through linking. This works for small sets of data that I want to use, but doesn't really solve any issues if I want to pull out larger sets of data. I can see that SC stores historical data locally, but the formats are custom (scid, dly), so I don't know if it is possible to access these directly.

I'm trying to remove the need to external data sources and do my research on the data sources that I intend to test and trade systems with. It would be really nice to be able to at least export large portions of data out at a time for external testing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Historical Daily data is stored in files with the extension of .dly. These files are ASCII text files, so they can be opened and read directly, there is nothing special that needs to be done.

If you are wanting Intraday data, then there is no way, other than creating your own program or custom study, to get the data for multiple instruments. Refer to the following for the format of the .scid files:
