SC2735 (problem was also on SC2732) Intraday data download for NQH25 contract is VERY slow. This problem has been going on for about 1-2 weeks now. Attached message log from today, Sunday, shows that NQH25 intraday data download for the period of 01/23-17:00h CST to 01/24-16:00h CST took 3m31s. For comparison: The download for ESH25 intraday data for the same time period in the same SC session only took 16s. Other active contracts only take few seconds, including NQM25, NQU25, NQZ25. It is not obvious to me what the problem is. All of the above intraday data downloads come from one chartbook. |

This is not a version specific issue at all. Definitely not. This just simply has to do with Internet connectivity. We tried downloading tick by tick data for 60 days for NQH25 outside of the US, and it took two minutes from two different servers. One server was a few seconds faster but that is insignificant. To improve the download speed, refer to: Historical Intraday Data (Missing Data / Download Errors / Viewing More Data): Improving Historical Intraday Data Downloading Performance Note: The above post was corrected with the correct symbol. OK, but why does this problem only show up for the NQH25 symbol, and not for any other symbol? It is not likely that this is a problem with the internet routing of the data, when ONLY THIS symbol is affected. Plus, that this has been observed for some time for ONLY THIS symbol. |

It could be because we have different Internet connections and when data for this contract is being downloaded, a different Internet connection is being used. But this would happen randomly. Although all of the connections are fine. Also, different symbols have different amount of trading. There is more data to download for some symbols rather than others. It does not involve a version or this particular symbol and that would never be considered by us. And additionally we verified that. And this is final. Can you recommend any analysis/debugging action on my side that I can apply when experiencing the problem?

Try setting this setting to DS32.SierraCharts.com: Sierra Chart Server Settings: CME Exchange Data Feed Historical Server Address Override (Global Settings >> Sierra Chart Server Settings >> General >> Special) And then re-download the data: Re-download all the data in the chart by going to the chart and selecting "Edit >> Delete All Data and Download" from the main Sierra Chart menu. You just need to do this once per symbol and not for each chart. This command is on the main Sierra Chart menu at the top. Only use it from that location. Let us know if that makes any difference.
