I load 2 years of small range data and when I run replays for long periods of time for testing, it seems to really slow down and lag after a period of time. Is there a way to lessen this load?

Refer to help topic 30:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

Try loading less data in the chart. So a fewer number of days but the problem is as a chart replays, the number of days is going to increase. So that is not really a solution.

I need data from 2022-2023. Is there a way to only load that data and not include 2024?

Yes. With these Chart Settings:
Chart Settings: Load Data Limiting Method: Date Range >> Date Range From / To (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Load Data Limiting Method: Date Range menu)
