Hi,
I run into win11 unexpected restart around midnight everytime while running sierra chart. It was fine when replay backtest was running during the day time. I have gone through very exhausted ways to rule out computer overheating or hardware cause for unexpected restart. I stopped windows update as well without effect. My computer is also fine without running sierra chart. I have lastest sierra chart update. any ideas what I should do next? is there any way to alert me for sierra chart expected shutdown?
thx

Most of the time when the system crashes it won't be able to alert you before it happens.

I would check the Sierra Chart Message, Trade Activity, and Service Logs for anything unusual at that time.

Also, if you see error 1074 in the Windows Event Viewer, then an application caused it to restart. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/78335-read-shutdown-logs-event-viewer-windows.html

If you determine it is Sierra Chart, try starting in Safe Mode, to help narrow it down to a custom study or the app.

is it possible to have some form of alert from sierra chart web chat to indicate my chart has been closed? maybe the question is for a separate thread.

Have you tried looking through the Windows logs?

Pretty sure this is still valid for Win11:

Sierra Chart cannot be affecting the system in any way like this.

The only known case where Sierra Chart could cause such a serious issue, causing a system to restart, is potentially when using OpenGL but such a problem was solved years ago.

Otherwise, this is absolutely going to be an operating system or hardware level issue.

I am using OpenGL for sierra chart. I will disable it and report back here.

after I disabled OpenGL, the problem is still there. I will try to clean up some of unwanted DLL files to see what will happen.

This is not a Sierra Chart issue. You will need to figure out what is the problem with your system.
