hello, 2 chartbooks open, only one number bars chart, barely any usage on CPU or Ram
I keep getting this alert about high power usage in Sierra...
What gives?

I have a very beefy pc, Sierra runs well. And its always waaaaaaaaaay below any CPU load or ram
But what does "High Power Usage" mean? The CPU isnt even close to being taxed one bit, at 15%

I have since trimmed down to 1 chartbook with 5 charts, 12% cpu usage, and 8% ram
still getting this alert.
I have 2 symbols open. Not sure why getting this alert.

Well, cpu utilization from sierra is reasonably very in range, and while not completely sure how this "power usage" column is calculated in windows mathematically, but if its some compare formula, so compare power usage relative to other running applications, then yes sierra requesting higher power usage compared to other applications is also very normal

support team/dev team probably knows inner working of this value better, but i doubt this is something to worry about, i wouldnt be worried

this alert is a windows alert, if it was my system i would turn the alert off

In my experience, it's really not "number of charts" that causes resource usage spikes. It's what's on those charts. If you have custom studies, a lot of overlays, etc, you can quickly run into resource problems.
