Do charts accumulate

Just curious, if using a chart for a length of time and swapping out studies etc., do charts accumulate junk and leftover stuff as a result of this. Like the Windows registry for example. Would performance be enhanced by creating a new chart and adding only the studies you now use one at a time? Thanks! Mike
