SC2700 -> SC2726
Linux/wine

Updating my SC installations from version 2700 to 2726.

I start SC with doubleclick on the Linux .desktop file.
Select 'Update' on the login window.
Deselect "Add Start Menu Shortcut" and "Add Desktop Shortcut" in the Sierra Chart Installer window. Then launch the install/update.

Despite de-selecting these options, the desktop shortcuts are still created (in addition to the already existing desktop shortcuts). This is true both, for the .desktop file and the .lnk file.

This is not a new problem. It was there also with older SC versions.

I would expect these files not to be created?!?!

@Sierra_Chart Engineering,

Linux/Wine user too, for the last a few updates, I just
copied all the files in root directory (SierraChart_64.exe etc.)
plus ACS_Source and DTC folders, into existing C:\SierraChart folder,
it seems working fine.

would like to confirm if it is the right way of doing it or not.

Thanks so much!

We are not sure what your "root directory" is, or how the information gets there, but since Sierra Chart is not tied into the registry or other Windows items, it is portable and can be copied in order to update. So what you are doing is not an issue. Refer to the information on the following page:
