I'm using the rithmic data feed, SC version 1187, my broker is deep discount trading. I'm trying to join 6BU4-CME and 6BZ4-CME, and write the result to 6BZ4-CME. I'm getting the following error when I try to join data: JoinData: Failed to open the temporary output file. Failed to open file C:\SierraChart_rith\Data\JoinData.6BZ4-CME.scid.temp to replace it. Error: | 2014-09-12 04:49:50 * JoinData: Join complete. No records were read. Nothing was written to 6BZ4-CME.scid. | 2014-09-12 04:49:50 I tried deleting the referenced JoinData.6BZ4-CME.scid.temp file and trying to join the files again but that didn't work either. |

Until we resolve the problem, the proper procedure is to use the Continuous Futures Contract feature: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ContinuousFuturesContractCharts.html There is no need to perform file joining. This is an outdated method for continuous futures contracts. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
