Sierra Chart connects to Interactive Brokers through the TWS software. That software needs to be running at the same time and on the same computer as your Sierra Chart software, otherwise a connection will not be made. Make sure the TWS software is running.

If the TWS software is running, then go through the Setup Instructions at the following link to ensure that everything is setup properly:

Hi, I have followed all the instructions without success. I tried changing the port number as well on sierra and IBRK as well. I am running sierra on parallels on a imac. Does that change anything? Thanks.

We can not help with connecting to Interactive Brokers while using Parallels. We simply do not have the experience to be able to tell you how the connectivity works in this particular scenario.

We have set this as a "User Discussion" as there may be other user's that have your setup that can help you.

Are you running the Windows Version of IB TWS in Parallels also?

Intel CPU. Not using the windows version of IB. Did not consider that. I will try it. Thank you.

Same here, 2015 iMac. I have been running Linux since 2019 (dual boot with MacOS), works like a charm:

Wine+Sierra and TWS for Linux.

Parallels on MacOS has much worse performance than Linux, way too slow.

if your TWS is a Mac Version, I don't think it will communicate with Sierra running under Parallels.

There is thread on Linux too:
