Simple graphic config question

Please see attached. See white background for last trades price on the chart price scale. I need to set last traded price text color to black.

Recently I was editing Trade DOM graphics and seem to have changed this chart scale setting by mistake. I can not find how to change it back.

Check this setting

Graphics Settings: Last Trade Price Box Foreground

Thank you. That is already set to black, see image. But i still get white text. And i never changed that setting anyway, I only changed settings for Trade DOM.

Besides, I notice that for some charts the last trade price text is black, for others it is white. Something is wrong. Both charts pictured are set to use global graphics settings, which as you can see is set to black.

Chart DOM/Trade DOM Last Price Text Bid Trade and Chart DOM/Trade DOM Last Price Text Ask Trade are the other settings that can change this text color, but they also have to be specifically set to enabled in the config.

We are not able to reproduce what you are seeing. And we can verify that all your charts are set to use the Global Graphics Settings. So we really do not know why you would see what you are.

the one thing we would like for you to try is to change the setting for "Global Settings >> Graphics Settings >> Colors and Widths >> Last Trade Price Box Foreground" to a very distinct color, such as hot pink (i.e. not black or white). See this shows in all the charts or not.

I tried hot pink. See attached. Last Trade Price Box Foreground is still white.

The problem started after I was editing the similar setting for the Trade DOM, which you can see in the same image. I never edited the value for Last Trade Price Box Foreground.

I installed both the current version and the pre-release. The problem persists in both cases.

I have multiple SC folders (not instances via the File menu). Using Windows, I copied the chartbook to another SC folder that I have not used for sometime. When I open in that instance, the problem is still there. So all I can guess is that the problem resides in the Chartbook?

We really do not know what is occurring or why. We looked at your chartbook and we did not see a problem.

Here's what we would like to try next. For one of the charts that is not working properly do the following:
- Select "Chart >> Graphics Settings - Chart".
- In the top, deselect the option for "Use Global Graphics Settings Instead of These Settings" (remove the checkmark).
- Select OK to close that window.

See if the text shows up. If not, then do the following:

- Select "Chart >> Graphics Settings - Chart".
- Find the entry for "Chart Values: Price and Time Boxes Text Color" and change this to some other color and see if it shows up.

Let us know if this works. If it does, then change your other charts that are not working to do the same thing.

If none of the above works, then get us the chartbook again for us to take a look by following these instructions:

Thank you for the ongoing help.

None if that worked.

Attached chartbook again, same as in previous post. Also attached image of what I am seeing on the price scale for last price. A white box, with no visible text inside.

Do you have any studies on the chart? When you send us the chartbook, there are no studies on the charts. We wonder if you have a study that has the Value Label that is causing this. Please duplicate the chart and then remove the studies from the duplicate one by one to see if any of these affect the display.

If not the above, then assuming you still have the global graphics set for the charts, go to "Global Settings >> Graphics Settings" and find the entry for "Last Trade Box". There is an "Enable" option towards the bottom for this. Remove the checkmark next to the "Enable" and select "Apply". The box should disappear entirely. Let us know the result of this.

There are no studies on the charts that I sent you. The problem is not caused by a study value label.

find the entry for "Last Trade Box". There is an "Enable" option towards the bottom for this. Remove the checkmark next to the "Enable" and select "Apply". The box should disappear entirely. Let us know the result of this.

The white box disappears, and no price label is visible.

Ok, one last thing that we want to try, as the only other thing that comes to mind is a possible resource issue with your computer.

If you have not recently rebooted your computer, then please do so and then after it restarts start up just Sierra Chart and see if you continue to have the issue.

I restart my PC every day.

I installed a brand new SC instance by download and copied the chartbook that I supplied in this thread. I still see the problem.

If it helps at all, before a market opened today, I could see the last price on the chart price scale, see attached image and price in pink. Not ethe chart and DOM are both pink.

Once the market opened, I could no longer see the last price, see other image with white box only for last price on the price scale.

If you start a new Chartbook and create the chart from scratch (do not duplicate the charts that have the issue), do you still have the same thing occurring?

Yes, a new chartbook with new charts created from the File menu still shows the issues. For all symbols I tested

Another observation:

- when I start SC, the last price displays properly on the chart price scale IF there have been no trades. See image 1.

Then, after a trade takes places, the last price does not display properly. See image 2 price scale on the chart.

You can see the DOM on the right indicating that no trades have taken place in the first 20 seconds of starting SC.

That is a a great clue. Check your settings for the following and the item below it. These would change the text color if they are "Enabled".
Customizing Fonts, Colors, Line Styles, and Widths for Chart Trading, Chart DOM, and Trade DOM: Chart DOM Last Price Text Bid Trade

Check both the Global and the Chart specific settings for these. The easiest thing to do is to uncheck the "Enable" option to turn them off.
