I currently have NISS-NYSE as a study on my chat, and im wondering if thats all I need to show adv/dec line. I was just doing some research and learned about cumulative study and just not sure if I need more steps to have the adv/dec line. Also saw that I might need to add the adv/dec line as a study to my niss-nyse. Just confused on whats needed to have a adv/dec line.

It sounds like you want to have the "Advance Decline Line" study. Refer to the information at the following link:

ok, I applied the study to a NISS-NYSE chart and added the adv/dec line. The link you provided didn't state how to add it to my current chart, but i used the study/price overlay study to bring the adv/decl line over, assuming that's how its supposed to be done.

The "Advance/Decline Line" study is meant to be applied to a "Net Issues" chart from the Market Statistics, such as the "NISS-NYSE". This gives you a cumulative sum of the net issues over time.

If you want to view that information on a different chart, then the "Study/Price Overlay" is the study to do this.

Thanks. Im still a little new to it, but how is it such a big difference in the information when comparing the normal NISS-NYSE to the adv/decline line. Shouldn't they be exactly the same?

The Advance/Decline Line will be a lagging indicator, as it is the cumulative sum of the Last of the Net Issues. So it adds up all the previous values and displays the current sum total.

So the NISS-NYSE alone is the current difference between the adv and decline?
