Hello, the volume by price tool is excellent and as always Sierra Chart gives the user a lot of choice on how to present the information. In the Volume by Price Study Setting the Short Name feature helps identify and differentiate studies in the Chart Studies to Graph window. On the chart, the VbP tool has the ability to identify and display Study ID name, though it does it generically. For example, ID:1, ID:5, ID:6. Is it possible to customize the VbP ID name, like, display the Short Name instead of the plain ID:1? http://screencast.com/t/ftPazsfX8Ho http://screencast.com/t/6ZyC3N06 http://screencast.com/t/MA0ndZlQ Thanks in advance. |

In the next release, the Short Name will instead be displayed when displaying the Volume by Price study ID, and it has been set for the study instance.

Thanks kindly for the reply and good news. As always, you guys are the best and quick! I look forward to that update, it will be helpful. Another useful feature would be the option on VbP tool to display the difference in ticks and pips between the profiles highest high and lowest low. A further feature would be a separate calculation to display the pip/tick difference of the value area, alone. Thanks. http://screencast.com/t/fpAo7Dt5IrV Without the diagonal line, of course. I used the chart calculator tool there. thank you! Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-09-03 18:31:44

HI. I recently saw read an article that FXCM is now braodcasting volume data for retail spot FX. Here is the link:http://ir.fxcm.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=855057 Does that mean that if i subscribe to your package 1 or 3 which uses FXCM forex that I can now access real volume bars? Thanks, |

No, this is not the case and we will have to look at this later on. We simply have no time to be doing any changes with the FXCM feed now.

I am not liking and trusting the FXCM data feed, especially on the lower time levels. The highs and lows, open and close are all correct but the speed and flow of price movement (with in the HLOC), to me, is suspect. I've heard elsewhere that brokers data feed are not ideal, is there a better forex data feed I can subscribe to? |

IQ feed is a good feed BUT FXCM to my knowlege is the only fx broker that provides real volume in spot Fx (yes it is only their clients volume ) but probably better than calculated/contrived ones like tick/transaction volumes. If you google spot Fx volume, you will see how far back fx traders have been clamoring for real volume much like exchanges. The issue here is if Sierra is going to prioritize in adding this feature --far bigger issue is whether FXCM is willing to distribute it to others or to they want to keep it exclusive for their "trading station" platform. |
