Is it possible to change the entire candlestick shading based on delta in this tickchart format?

Use the "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition" to do this. Refer to the following:
Color Bar Based on Alert Condition

You can get the delta from various locations, but the simplest is the Numbers Bars Calculated Values. Refer to the following:

Thank you, would this apply a gradient to the bars as well? - Meaning different colors depending on the range threshold of delta etc. Or do you need multiple Colo Bar Based studies for each color?

The Color Bar Based on Alert Condition does not have an ability to apply a gradient. You would need multiple copies of the "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition" study to get the range of colors you want.

Oof, OK that's what I was trying to accomplish. It would be great if Sierra would reformulate that Study to rebase on multiple outputs from the underlying study. Thank you for clarifying

In this case you need to create your own custom study to do what you need. Refer to:

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong - I can't get the bars to change colors after reading the documentation.

For Color Bar Based on Alert
-based on Numbers Bars Calculated Value, chart region 1 (as the 1000 tick candles)
-Value Format set to Inherited; Use Input Data (4); ID4.SG1 (15)
-Alert condition "= ID4.SG1 >= 100"
-"Evaluate on Bar Close" check or uncheck doesn't make a difference

From the numbers bars it is clear there are values over 100, candles remain the same default colors. What am I missing?

Based On needs to be set to <Main Price Graph>. For the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition the "Based On" needs to be the item that is going to be colored.
