Moin Moin. After having read "Interactive Scale Range not working with Logarithmic Chart Scale I made sure to read "https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/Scaling.html". It says.: "When any of the data in the visible chart bars has a negative or 0 value, then logarithmic scaling is automatically disabled. This also applies to studies as well which are set to use a logarithmic scale." This has the effect, that I can set a log-scale, whenever no 0-volume-bar is being displayed for the "Volume (ID:6)"study, but not, if 0-value bars are present. Hence, I wanted to suggest to not disable the log-scaling, if the user explicitly does provide a specific range to plot. The reasoning behind this, is that a radicand of 0 does correspond to its log-value of (-∞). But, as the user is providing values to display, as within the attached screenshot from 100 to 10000, there is aconscious decision to exclude the negative/imaginary value-range of the log-function. So, this one is a backwards-compatible change. If You want to make sure, that any customer, using this is aware of the change, then my suggestion is, to add a checkbox within the scaling menu, right below "Bottom Of Range" saying something like "even u se this range, if 0 or negative values are to be used within the logarithm". _Tschüß, __Michael. Yes, also interested in better support for logarithm scale, it's all messy, when moving the chart in "interactive Scale move" the bars at the lower prices compress and expand too much compared to higher prices, is there a way to have the "Interactive Scale move functionality" keep the chart locked and move evenly while in logarithm mode? "When any of the data in the visible chart bars has a negative or 0 value" logarithm is canceled if I move too far down since I start seeing 0 or negative value in the right scale, is there a way to lock the scale to never go to 0 or below it when moving the chart? "Interactive Scale Range not working with Logarithmic Chart Scale" this is too bad I see there is a custom hack where if I hold control key and move the mouse pointer up or down in the chart while in Constant Range it does some sort of Scale range compression expansion but again lower prices expand too much in percent compared to higher prices. |
