Is there a way to link a specific bar period to a study and create a control bar button that changes both the bar period and study at the same time? If I switch from 15m to 4H I don’t want the clutter that that my 15m studies show on the 4H. Right now I have control bars setup that have bar periods and separate buttons that have my preferred timeframe studies. Instead of clicking the bar period then change the study I would like to be able to just push one button that changes the bar period and the study at the same time.

Just my $0.02.... Maybe you just need separate charts for each timeframe? Set each one up with the studies you want then just toggle between charts. That's probably faster than reloading the studies and changing the timeframes all the time. You can even overlay the studies from the 4H onto the 15m, but not vice-versa if you don't want to see them on the 4H. There are different ways to switch between chart windows. See here Working With Charts: Selecting Charts or Navigating Among Charts I ditched using the control bar buttons to change timeframes a long way back - I just made separate charts and detached them all. Now I just use the windows taskbar to select. But if you're trying to do everything on one chart I understand - that has a certain elegance. I just don't know how to do it. |

Thanks for the input. That is what I have typically done. I have an account with top step that I trade on top step X and found I track the different timeframes on a single chart better than switching to different chart books. But I like my studies I have setup for different times. I want to have NQ and ES on split screen where the time and study can switch on both with one click. Might have to see about a hotkey macro if there is no way to link them in Sierra.

There is nothing built-into the system to do this. You could create a custom study that would adjust the other studies based on the Bar Period. Refer to the following: sc.SetChartStudyInputInt() List of Third Party Sierra Chart Study and System Programmers For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
