I've begun to use the custom control bars for specific charts in order to eliminate the need for having the Trade Window open. These are great real estate savers, but I've encountered a problem. If you add the two profit/loss Special Items for the control bar, and have the control bar on several charts, all (4 in my case) of the control bars will show the same P&L information - the information for whichever chart is in focus. The Show Orders Only from Chart function does not impact this. This seems to defeat the purpose of chart control bar P&L displays. Shouldn't it show the P&L info for each chart at all times, regardless of focus? |

This is going to work the same as the "Trade Window" does. So you will see the Profit/Loss items for the symbol. Any charts with the same symbol (regardless of the status of "Only Orders from Chart" will show the same values.

Thanks, but I'm afraid this does not seem to be quite accurate. The chart control bars show the P&L for all instances of the control bar, regardless of what account or instrument each chart is using. They will all show the same P&L info, on all charts. Example right now: I have 4 charts. NQ in account A, ES in account A, ES in account B, and MES in account C. They all have the same chart control bar enabled for their charts. The trade windows for each of these charts, show different P&Ls as I would expect them to. But all 4 Control Bars, show the same values. They change to be the values of whichever chart is in focus at the moment. Hope this is clear... thanks. |

How do you have your charts and the Control Bar setup? We are not able to reproduce what you state. We have tried two different scenarios, both of which give us different values for the P/L and the Daily P/L based on the symbol of the chart. Each chart shows different values if it is a different symbol, but the same symbols show the same values. All of these match up to the Trade Windows for each chart. Setup 1: All charts attached with a single Control Bar with the P/L and Daily P/L displayed. Setup 2: 2 Detached Charts of different symbols with the same control bar number attached. Along with 3 other attached charts 2 of which had different symbols and 1 with the same symbol as one of the detached charts. The attached charts have the same control bar on the main Sierra Chart window. By way of illustration, please see attached screenshot. Note the second chart from the left is in focus, and that is the P&L that shows on all charts in the control bar, despite the trade windows having unique P&Ls for each account.

I am experiencing exactly what is described. 3 charts, each using the same chart control bar that's equipped with PL and DPL widgets. The data displayed in each always reflects the data relating to the chart that's in focus. I would expect the data to relate to the chart that the control bar is attached to as per an attached trade window for a chart. |
