Trading Evaluator Account Balance excludes commissions?

I wanted to test something on a new account so I reset the balance on one of my Trading Evaluator accounts, to 10,000, and deleted all of it's trade log activity from the TAL.

I proceeded to execute some automated trades, and when I looked at the results I got quite confused. The Account Balance reported in the Account Balances Window, is exclusive of commissions. The Trade Window and TAL report the correct P&L including commissions, why does the actual account balance, ignore commissions? Is there some way to change this? Cell J47 of the spreadsheet shows the same incorrect (commission-free) balance.

For the Trading Evaluator balance to take into account commissions and fees, you need to add Commission and Fee settings for those accounts. To do this, select the account in the Trade Account Monitor and select "Edit >> Manage >> Edit Trade Account". Then you can enter a "Trade Fee per Contract" on the "Main" page (at the bottom). You can also enter an additional per symbol fee on the "Symbol Commissions" page, but you have to do this for individual symbols.

Ah it doesn't just use the symbol commissions already set? That would definitely explain it. Thanks!

It does not use the symbol settings, as the balance is all held on our servers to simulate real-world trading.

Keep in mind the Trade Activity Log is the opposite, it only knows about the information in the symbol settings and does not know about the Trading Evaluator settings.

So I added a fee of 1.99/side for ES, but my balance still is not reflecting commissions. The Trade Account Monitor window shows my daily P&L exclusive of commissions.

Is there anything required to "refresh" the balance and get commissions to apply?

How exactly did you do this:
So I added a fee of 1.99/side for ES,

I just edited the account, added ES as a symbol under Symbol Commissions, entered the per-side commission, and clicked commit.

Assuming the correct symbol was set, then the commission will be applied for, order fills going forward from that point in time but not before.

Ah ok, so that's the issue, I haven't traded since. Shame it doesn't apply to past trades, I guess I'll have to reset my balance and start over.

No, no chance of it applying to past trades. It does not work that way.
