hi support, just as we can set shortcut buttons within a control panel for, say time period, do we have the ability also set short cut buttons on the chart for some studies? for example, if i want to toggle between clicking a moving average on or off, can i do that with the press of a button without having to open my studies window? this feature would really help and save a lot of time

There is no support for having a Control Bar Button or a Keyboard Shortcut to turn on/off specific studies.

You can, however, setup different Study Collections that have studies either included or excluded, and then you can assign these to Control Bar Buttons and/or Keyboard Shortcuts. Refer to the following:
Control Bar: Control Bar Study Collection Buttons and Keyboard Shortcuts

Also, there are faster ways to hide studies rather than going to "Analysis >> Studies" to bring up the Studies window. Refer to the following:
Chart Studies: Quick Access to Study Settings

hi, i've tried doing as you have suggested and successfully built a test custom study with 4 moving averages in them which i then assigned to a control bar.

then i created another custom study with exactly the same moving averages but this time hid them before saving.

my intention was to have a control button to show the moving averages then another button to hide them.

this didn't work because each time i pressed either of the buttons, sierra asks if i want to clear all the other studies from the chart.... which i do not.

essentially i'm tryig to set up a button which has a study collection in it to appear and another button to hide said study. any suggestion please as your documentation does not describe ow to do this?

i find it laborious having to open the study window each time to switch things on and off.

If you are being prompted for the option to "clear other studies" then this means that you have a plus sign (+) at the end of the name of the Study Collection, or that you selected the option for "Prompt to Remove Existing Studies". Refer to the following:
Study Collections: Adding a Study Collection Without Clearing Existing Studies On The Chart (Prompt to Remove Existing Studies)

hi john, i've redone the studies and ensured the 'clear other studies' plus sign is switched off. this time round there is no prompt to remove existing studies however all the studies are still being automatically deleted. i've checked your link but i can't see how to resolve this issue mate?

unless i'm going mad.... please read your instructions in the attached and compare them to your advice above... they seem to contradict one another... you're saying to uncheck the plus sign, which sounds logical, but the attachment says to check it. it states it on the first line

There is not a conflict. We just pointed you to the information on why you were being prompted to remove the studies.

If you do not get prompted to remove the studies, then the other studies will be removed. The only other option is to be prompted on whether you want to remove other studies or not by having a '+' sign at the end of the Study Collection name.

There is not a third option where the Study Collection is added to the existing studies without being prompted.
