Hi, I've just subscribed to CQG for some Asian exchanges (HKFE, KRX and OSE) but having some problems with the following exchanges/symbols: HKFE exchange symbols F.US.MHI and F.US.HSI - Can download intraday and daily historical data but cannot get a continuation chart for intraday or daily. Can only see data for the contract month selected, even when Continuation chart is selected from the settings KRX exchange symbol F.US.KOS - As above KRX exchange symbol F.US.MKI - As above but also get an error message: Symbol settings not found for current service. OSE exchange symbol F.US.MJNK - Works as it should. Continuous intraday and daily charts can be created so curious as to why the above symbols cant. Thanks Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-05-09 04:00:27

CQG, in general, does not have historical data beyond the current contract. So the fact that you are not able to put together a Continuous Futures Contract is not surprising. This is expected with the CQG data. What is more confusing is how you are getting data for MJNK. This we can not explain. With regards to the error stating "Symbol Settings Not Found for Current Service", you can ignore the message. It is stating that symbol settings are not found, as that particular symbol is not setup. But you should be getting everything you need for that symbol from CQG, so the message will go away and you can go on. If you really want to avoid the message, you could copy the symbol settings for F.US.KOS to F.US.MKI. Sorry - I can create a continuous chart for Daily MJNK, not intraday (not enough data as you said) Therefore if I can create a Daily continuous chart for MJNK then I should be able to do the same for the other 4 symbols (MHI, HSI, MKI and KOS)? So I duplicated MJNK global symbol settings to a new MKI as you suggested and updated the relevant fields but still cant get a Daily continuous chart (just see the current month data). I'm also still getting the 'Symbol settings not found' message and it doesn't disappear. Is there some setting where I force the global symbol settings to be used or any other suggestions? |

I think I figured it out - I've seen the 'Use custom symbol settings value' check box at the top of the Symbol Settings window.

We cannot help with continuous futures contract charts with CQG data. This is outside the scope of our support. They will not work. We do not recommend even trying. You are going to endlessly have problems.
