Hello Sierra I keep asking this question (and have done for years) and have yet to have a satisfactory answer from you I was today trading GER30 (which is actually GER40 as has been since September2021 - But you have yet to update!) The price on Sierra was 18158 and the Broker was 18070 (See attached image). I can understand a few pips difference, but nearly 90 pips is outlandish Can you please CLEARLY explain why the massive difference. It makes trading so difficult to know where to set levels and stops This problem isn't just on GERMANY either. Thanks - Regards, Mark |

Are they not 2 separate markets quoted by 2 different brokers (using CFDs)? The prices offered via Sierra is from the broker FXCM, and their market is not the German Dax, it's a price they make on the back of the German Dax. The IG price is their price on the Dax, again, not the price of the actual Dax index (or futures). I would think that if you buy both the IG price and the FXCM at the same time and then sell at the same time a few hours later (and the market moves higher), your profit in ticks would be almost exactly the same regardless of the fact you will have bought both (and sold both) at different prices. But if you want the official price of the German Dax, which will be 100% the same for all brokers, then you either have to use the official DAX index (from the German Stock Exchange) or the Eurex futures on the Dax. |

The SC GER30’s (FXCM) underlying instrument is the DAX Index Future. 250 FXCM GER30 Contracts are currently equivalent to one DAX Index Future. The IG DAX40 symbol is the DAX Index. IG DAX40 Index is the cash price (spot). The 90 pip difference is the difference between the futures price and the index (cash) price. On the IG DAX40 chart, there is a Futures tab. Click that and compare the GER30 (FXCM) price to the IG DAX40 Futures price. It is possible they are not the same either as explained in the post above. https://www.fxcm.com/markets/help/indices-ger30/ Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-04-15 11:11:55
