Hi, I would like to create a custom symbol = SPX500 index / US 2yr bond. My calculations were {SPX500}/{2USNote} but I got a blank chart. So I tried using the futures data. My calculations were {ES?##}/{ZT?##} However, I still got a blank chart. I have attached the detailed settings used. Can advise? |

There are a few other Symbol settings that need to be set correctly. Refer to the instructions at the following link, particularly Step #10: Custom Calculated Symbols: Instructions For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Yes. "Uses Formula Operator" is set to "yes". As for other info like, "Price Format, Tick Size, and Currency Value Per Tick", I find it hard to set for my particular symbol. In fact, I find the whole thing tough. I wonder if Helpdesk can help? cos i really like this symbol |

First of all, you can not use ES?## (or symbols with character replacements) for a Custom Calculated Symbol. You have to enter the specific contract such as ESM24. And what symbol you use depends on what service you are connected to. So whatever symbol you use for a standard chart you would use for the Custom Calculated Symbol. But, the {SPX500}/{2USNote} should have worked without issue, as long as you had the option for "Uses Formula Operator" set to "Yes". The Tick Size you use will be the smallest tick size of the instruments you are putting together. The Price Format will be driven by that Tick Size. Currency Value per Tick does not matter, as you can not trade this symbol. Please try again with {SPX500}/{2USNote}, but first open a chart for SPX500 by itself and another for 2USNOTE. Then open the chart for the custom calculated symbol and let us know what happens. Also, please get us a screenshot if there is an error by following these instructions: Support Board Posting Information: Attaching or Posting a Screenshot/Image (Optional) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

thanks. both SPX500 and 2USnote charts load fine. However, the custom symbol chart is still blank. I have already attached the pic with the "custom symbol settings" in my first post above. Here, I attached the "chart settings" |

You are not creating the symbol correctly. We did not notice this before. You have to enter the symbol name as the formula you want. For instance, when you select "New Symbol" you would enter the following in the box that comes up to enter the Symbol Name: {SPX500}/{2USNote} Then do not enter anything for the "Symbol Service Code". For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
