I see this has been refactored to present a separate dialog box for filter settings. However, there are issues with this, at least on my system. 1. No matter what date/time you choose, it still shows the same records. In other words, this setting appears to have no effect. If it is of any consequence, the last thing I was doing was replaying a chart. The records being shown start at the date and time I was replaying, and they never change, no matter what I select for date/time. 2. If you click on "Filter Last Day is Today" several times in rapid succession (which I did because it was VERY laggy to respond to mouse clicks) the entire program aborts and vanishes. It's quite easy to duplicate this, but it's not always consistent. Just click around this item, change the dates a few times, and it will crash. I have reverted to 2611. Additionally, I tested (2611 and 2606, didn't go any further) and there is a weird display of the date in the "To" date/time box. When you click the "Today" checkbox, the date is mangled. Uncheck it, and the display is correct. See attached screenshot. |

We will check these. What you see is definitively correct and is the maximum date: Additionally, I tested (2611 and 2606, didn't go any further) and there is a weird display of the date in the "To" date/time box. When you click the "Today" checkbox, the date is mangled. Uncheck it, and the display is correct. See attached screenshot. It has always worked this way. This is nothing new at all. It may not be anything new, but why anyone would not put TODAYS DATE in a dropdown labeled "TODAY" is beyond me. If you can fix the crashing bug, that would make the log usable again.

but why anyone would not put TODAYS DATE in a dropdown labeled "TODAY" is beyond me. This would mean the date would require updating every day and would require automatic programmatic management to do that. Otherwise, it would not work as you would expect. The concept of "today", and is referring to trade activity data all the way up to the present moment in time and there has to also be consideration to time stamping issues where there could be timestamps ahead of the current time. This is why it is set to the maximum date possible. Regarding the abnormal shutdown issue, we were not able to reproduce that. Does not make sense why that would happen and we do not know what the issue is in your particular case. Wait for the next update coming out in about an hour and see if you still have that same problem. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Whatever you did, it is working now, at least with a cursory glance. The trades are being displayed correctly now. The "Filter Last Day is Today" field is now responsive, and I am unable to reproduce a crash. I see it's also changed to be under the "Display Settings" menu item. Did you find some suspect code? Just for fun, I tried the 2616 release again, and I can get it to blow up in under 10 seconds. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-03-17 23:17:34

There was nothing we did specifically to resolve the exception/abnormal shut down issue. And we are going to be doing a thorough code review, over the next day looking into this. We will see if we can find a problem. If you have a further issue let us know.

We did find the problem with the exception and resolved it. It was a mistake by one of the programmers. Update to version 2618 by following these instructions: Software Download: Fast Update Update ASAP. We are going to lock out the affected versions. Good deal, thanks for looking into it. Mistakes happen. I was a C/C++/C# dev for many years before retiring. Bad pointers were always my downfall. Glad you could locate.

This is not a mistake which should have happened. And it was due to a pointer that was not initialized to a null value. So it had a random value. Which is the reason for the intermittent behavior.
