I had some problems with this on the Dec 2023 March 2024 Roll as well, Because this go round DST landed on the same weekend as I wanted to roll, I changed all my timelines of sessions etc first and saved the layout so I had the option to trade March Contract on Monday if it had more volume. I made a copy of this with the plan of having another book with June all ready to go, But on most of the charts when I try to select June it just jumps back to March (But will say June in the title bar). For some reason the NQ ones about 8 charts were OK. I have a pretty big layout 4 monitors and 40 charts maybe 16 are minimized but supplying inputs to other charts and I have a lot of study overlays going on all thru the layout. I am running build 2550 with Denali feed and executing via IB. I have even tried duplicating one of the problem charts to a new chartbook , Wiping every study and study overlay and tried to change it then as I thought maybe the overlays were corrupting it somehow ( Zyp mentioned this could be something to do with it the last time ) but that didn't work either
Any ideas how to fix this ?

When exactly is it changing the symbol back to the March contract?

Also, the default setting for when the date rollover occurs for the ES is "1 calendar day before the 3rd Friday of the contract month", so the system is not set to rollover to the new contract until this coming Thursday (March 14, 2024).

John, All my charts are set to volume based rollover, but I assumed this could be over ridden manually and I was able to do that when I tried the same thing on Sunday night after Globex was open and IB was up and running and there were no problems, so I thought it was a historical data download issue with IB offline. However now we are back open on Monday night Globex and there is a huge gap, All Mondays data has reverted back to March Contract. even though I was running it on June all day, The program was never closed and it seems to have done this after the 1800 reopen, but some charts are OK , The 15 min one, But all the Renko and Range bar ones miss out all Mondays June info altogether
To answer your question on the Saturday It wasn't that it would change back, It was it wouldn't change forward after I selected the June one, it just stayed on March

Barry

PS, I just read that other post about gaps on the rollover and it mentions not to have that roll automatically feature checked . This may be something to do with my problem

This is completely normal:
All Mondays data has reverted back to March Contract. even though I was running it on June all day, The program was never closed and it seems to have done this after the 1800 reopen,

Refer to:
Continuous Futures Contract Charts: Current Day Always Uses Contract Month of Symbol of Chart

However, for Monday March 11 we see the June contract.

This is what we currently see:

At this time you must use a Volume-based rollover.
