Hello John, I can only get the Lock Fill Space to work while at the end of chart. I do see the L toggle on and off, but If im not at the end of the chart, the chart fill space remains at whatever setting it was at previously. I tried using the ctrl key as described here Working With Charts: Locking the Right Side Fill Space but that is not toggling the action as desired Thank you |

This is correct functioning, if you have the Lock Fill Space on, and you are scrolled back in the chart, then when you turn off the Lock Fill Space, you need to scroll the chart to the end (the far right) and then when you scroll back to left the fill space will be removed.

Start with unlocked fill space, meaning no check mark on menu item Chart >> Lock Fill Space. Then, go to the end of the chart. e.g. hit the END key on your keyboard, or use Chart >> Goto End of chart Now use the hand tool to move the end of the chart further to the right creating a zone on the right hand side which is with out bars. That is your fill space. Now activate Chart >> Lock Fill Space which will lock empty space on the right side. The lock is in numbers of bars. When you scale your time up or down the fill space will appear smaller or bigger, because each bar will need more or less space. In addition to the section you have linked I suggest you read this one as well. Working With Charts: Right Side Fill Space |
