In the documentation for stuyd/Price Overlay study for the 'Data Copy Mode' states that
In the case where the destination chart bars are a non-fixed timeframe, which will be the case when bars are based upon Volume, Number of Trades, Range, Reversal, Renko, Delta Volume, Price Changes, Point & Figure, then you will want to choose Use Earliest Value from Corresponding Timeframe. This is going to be necessary when performing back testing and the source chart is not being replayed.
Study/Price Overlay Study: Data Copy Mode

So, my question is if this suggestion is also true (ie. Data Copy Mode to 'Earliest Value Mode') when:

1. The source charts ARE being replayed, through 'Chart->Replay Chart' and 'All Charts' in 'Accurate Trading System Back Test Mode'
2. In realtime

From what I've seen in the support board, what one should set in the settings of this study (in particular 'Data Copy Mode' and 'Bar Time Matching Method') are difficult to understand in practice, maybe because the docs are not so clear.

In these two cases, set it as you would require. There is no other comment that we would be able to make. There are no special notes that we need to make in these particular cases.

Thank you for clarifying this in the documentation, but you could add it here as a reference too, for posterity.

Updated reference :
If the source chart is replaying, or the source and destination charts are both updating in real time, then set Data Copy Mode as required. It does not need to be set toUse Earliest Value from Corresponding Timeframe in these cases.

If either chart is using non-time-based bars, the Data Copy Mode should be set to Use Earliest...

Yes, I see that.

When using the Study/Price Overlay to overlay price or study data onto the chart that the trading system is on, and the chart bars are Number of Trades, Volume, Range, Reversal, Renko, Delta Volume, Price Change, Point and Figure Bars, then you need to set the Data Copy Mode study Input to Use Earliest Value from Corresponding Timeframe.

So, Support, what's is the recommended setting for 'Data Copy Mode' ?
Is this setting according to the destination chart type?
In relation to back-testing and real-time?
