Hi Guys Issue 1 As you can see (attachment 1) i have "Buy Triggered Stop" / "Sell Triggered Stop" in use on my chart trade menu. I want to assign these to keyboard shortcuts but when i look (attachment 2) "Customize Keyboard Shortcuts>Trading Order Types Commands>" the only option provided is ">Triggered Stop" - which seems useless when not specifying Buy or Sell?? I have tried the Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcuts to no avail. Solution Please? Issue 2 I have Trading Shortcut Keys Enabled in Trade menu settings I currently have your "Triggered Stop" command (as per attachment 2) assigned to F1 key (so o could try to experiment in sim to see if i could work a solution) However the F1 key just opens a webpage browser Working With Charts The overwriting of the keyboard shortcut assignment does not appear to be working? Maybe because the "Triggered Stop" is defunct? Solution Please? Thanks very much. Benz Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-02-06 10:41:05

The Keyboard Shortcuts for the "Order Types" set the order in the Trade Window. They do not place orders. With regards to the shortcut key, F1 (and a few other keys) are special and can not have shortcuts set for them. F1 is always a "Help" key, and the OS overrides any other option. So how do i set up a shortcut key to place an order? What i am looking to achieve is instead of: 1 right clicking my mouse on the chart to bring up order menu; 2 left clicking mouse on menu at b/s triggered stop; 3 that places my stop order at where i originally right clicked step 1; 4 i now manually set the trigger price by left clicking on chart (all of this is accompanied by attached order) What i would like to do is: 1 press shortcut key and the b/s stop is placed exactly where my mouse is and the trigger is set exactly x no. of ticks away e.g. 10 ticks in nq if that is not easily achievable then i would at least like to: 1 press shortcut key and the b/s stop is placed exactly where my mouse is completing steps 1-3 above then allowing me to adjust and set my trigger placement. Thank you. With regard F1 key being set for help - is this really the greatest idea when it is a most used hotkey? couldnt you put help on F12 for example? anywhere but F1? do you find many users cant access your help pages on the web without using the F1 button? Maybe get rid of that binding? Thanks. |

You would have to create a custom study to do what you are asking for. It is not built into the system. Refer to the following: Advanced Custom Study Interaction With Menus, Control Bar Buttons, Pointer Events For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
