evening all, not heard for long time. I don't want to create two or three different posts, i have three questions about the above mentioned study: 1. sometimes it happens that the volume treshold is not (delayed after studie update) displayed even if it occurs already. What could be the reason for this? 2. it happens that volume is displayed at a candle high that is no longer visible at the end of the day. Any suggestion`? Perhaps I am not understanding something correctly? 3. can someone give me a simple alert formula for the occurrence of the volume treshold please? Would appreciate your help once again. many thx to all |

1. 2. We do not understand the image you have sent. We do not know what are the Threshold Alerts versus the regular bar. Can you please give us some information on how to read your chart so we understand what is occurring. Or give us a simplified version using the default display settings for the study. 3. All you need to write for an alert is the following: =ID1.SG1 Then the first time there is a threshold met within a bar, the alert will go off. You will also want to set the Alert Option for "Reset Alert Condition on New Bar" to be enabled. Sorry, wasnt the right file. 1. Take a look at the attached file now. As you can see, there is avery vaguely increased volume emerging (gradient grey dash). During the session, this volume is no longer visible, although the same time frame. That worries me a little. 3. Thank you. Does this formula also apply if several alarms occur in one candle? thx again |

1. This really does not make any sense, and it makes us wonder if it is due to the Rithmic data. What we would need for you to do is to turn on the Numbers Bars study to view the Total Volume in the bars so that you can see what the value is at the time it first shows and then see if it changes later when the alert is no longer there. 3. We forgot that there is the Alert Sound option in the Inputs for the study, which works exactly the same as the formula we gave you - where the sound will go off for the first time there is an alert printed for a bar. There is not a way to get an alert for each alert printed (i.e. the 2nd, 3rd, etc.). If you want to get a specific alert, such as when the 3rd alert is printed, then you can do this by using the following: =AND(ID1.SG1, ID1.SG2, ID1.SG3) Which requires that the first, second, and third alerts have occurred. But it will not sound for the first or second, just when the third becomes true. Regarding rithmic, thats what I thought. That would have been the next logical step for me too. So thx All alerts are working fine now. Thank you. Will get back to you soon. |

There is not a specific way to color based on a particular volume. The best option is to use the "Color Background Based on Value Percentage" options and set the "Percent Compare Thresholds" to values like ".25, .5, .99" and then set the colors in a way that the highest values (those that are within 1% of the maximum) will stand out - such as setting all but the Range 4 colors to be the same as the background of your chart.
