When you use the "use attached orders" option while autotrading from a spreadsheet, does this override the buy and sell signals in your spreadsheet formulas ? example: when backtesting without the "use attached orders" , buy and sell signals fire on a macd crossover. When I run the same strategy with "use attached orders", it seems that the price target nullifies the cross signal. The position wont change until the target is hit, even if a crossover signal occurs. Is this expected behavior ? Also, If I want just a stop loss in place, when I use "attached orders" with only a stop loss selected, no signals fire at all. Is this expected also ? How can you add just a stop loss when trading from spreadsheet ? thanks regards |

We cannot answer this question because we do not know exactly what the formulas are or how you have the Spreadsheet System for Trading study configured. And understanding that is outside the scope of our support. We can only refer you to the documentation: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_AutoTradeManagment.php One section you need to refer to in addition to other sections is Support Attached Orders For Trading: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_AutoTradeManagment.php#SupportAttachedOrdersForTrading A spreadsheet cannot adjust orders. However, instead you can use the Buy/Sell Exit formulas to send a market order when you want to exit the position rather than using a Stop order. Hi Thanks, I found the answer in the first link you sent. I appreciate the link to the info. " In order to use BuyExit and SellExit with Attached Orders that are configured to flatten your position, you must set CancelAllWorkingOrdersOnExit to TRUE (Yes). This allows you to use both " thanks best regards |
