I am using Arrow drawing tool with text notes (I have "Prompt for Text" enabled in Arrow settings). If I use a setting "Text Horizontal Alignment: Left" for Arrow tool, then the note looks nice (screenshot "Left text alignment.jpg" - attached, arrow in blue colour). However if I use "Text Horizontal Alignment: Right" then there is a gap between end of text and start of the arrow (screenshot "Right text alignment.jpg" - attached, arrow in red colour). I also noticed that this setting doesn't get saved, I mean if I select "Text Horizontal Alignment: Right" in "Arrow Properties" window > click "OK" > then go back to "Arrow Properties", then the "Arrow Properties" box says "Text Horizontal Alignment: Left". Potentially this looks like a minor bug. My Sierra version is 2567 64bit, revision 48231 Can you please advice how to avoid this gap between the arrow and text? |

A minor update on Arrow tool I noticed as well which doesn't affect the performance but may be interesting: If I have an arrow pointing up, then the points when arrow is selected are on the arrow itself (see my marking in yellow on the image "Arrow up.jpg") However, if I have a perfectly vertical arrow pointing down, then the points of the selected arrow are outside (above) the arrow geometry (see my marking in yellow on the image "Arrow down.jpg") If an arrow is pointing down but isn't vertical then it looks fine Once again I thought this may be useful / interesting but doesn't affect anything so not an issue using it as is Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-01-06 14:35:05

Nice find. I see this bug on v2580 and the gap when right aligned and the "gap" appears to be equal to the width of the text. Seems like there is a "TextSize.Width*2" in the code where there should just be a TextSize.Width. Also see the bug with the dots rendered outside the start/end when the Arrow is down and vertical. Also happens with the Line drawing tool and Parallel Lines tool when drawn down and vertical and when selected. So +1 on this bug Ben000. |

We will resolve these in the next release. The reason for the misalignment has to do with the alignment being done at a common point through the creation of a bounding rectangle. And when the text is outputted we should be using a left-top alignment but it is not using the default alignment at that point for this particular drawing type.
