Hello,

I need a simple study to show the bar period of a chart similar to symbol display study. Can you please make one
I have searched the threads but couldn't find anything simple there.

He tends to watch this board, so hopefully he will contact you through this thread.

Refer to the following post, which is why we know he has this - you should be able to contact him through the information there:

Hello,

Chart properties library from user Ackin is no longer free. I did search the forums and seems they recently made this library paid only.

Is there another way to show bar period in large font just like Symbol Study on the chart? As, I have multiple charts open with same symbol and sometimes, am looking at wrong time frame. So, a big display of time frame would be nice.

Thanks

Try this for time based charts:

Add these two studies to each chart:

1. Bar Time Duration. Make sure it's hidden.

2. Text Display For Study. Set the Study and Subgraph to Display to the Bar Time Duration study. Set Subgraph Columns Back to 1. Set the Value Format dropdown to Time.

Now adjust the location / color / size of the text as needed using the settings for the Text Display study.

The format will be 00:05:00, or 00:15:00, etc. For a quick visual reference it will do the job.

If you use tick charts:

Instead of Bar Time Duration use Number of Trades study. Set the Value Format of the Text Display for Study dropdown to 1.

Hi Mercrastius and SC Support,

Thanks so much. Yes, that works.

However, since Chart properties study from Ackin is no longer free. It would be nice if we can have one from Sierra Chart to show the time period. What do you think? Since, this is such a common property which everyone would like to have on chart just like name.

Again, thanks for your excellent answers.

We understand the request, but there are just so many things to do. We can not say when we would be able to get to this. But we have made a note of it.
