You can not set an alert on the Subgraphs of the Numbers Bars study. These subgraphs are just for the coloring or widths.

What is it exactly that you want to accomplish - just give us the information without any solutions - so do not reference the Numbers Bars study - just what you want to have happen and when. We can then point you in the right direction from there.

Thank you, John I use the numbers bar study (footprint) to plot unfinished auctions and would like to if there's any way to get an alert when an unfinished auction, according to the settings in the numbers bar, would fire off an alert when the threshold is above 49.

hopefully I've explained what it is that I'm trying to accomplish well enough.

The Alerts have the ability to check the Ask Volume and Bid Volume at specific price levels, and you can use the shorthand notation for the High/Low/Open/Close (H/L/O/C) with these. Refer to the information here:
Study/Chart Alerts And Scanning: Special Functions

Therefore, to test for an unfinished auction where the Bid is greater than 49 at the High of the bar or the Ask is greater than 49 at the Low of the bar, the alert condition would look like the following:
=OR(BVAP(H, 0) > 49, AVAP(L, 0) > 49)

This should give you enough to be able to expand if you need to.
