Currently I am working towards integrating a proprietary trading platform backend with SC (to enable trading and extended market data integration) and wanted to inquire on documentation available for integrating via the FIX protocol vs. DTC protocol.

The proprietary trading platform already has a FIX protocol base implementation and would likely require less work overall for us to integrate, but it appears from the documentation I could find available that SC has released, SC has implemented a FIX connector for other services, but for 3rd party devs like myself you only detail a DTC implementation.

I understand the reasons SC is taking this stance, I just need to know if a FIX implementation is out of the question for this project so I can properly scope the integration.

Yes you will definitely need to use the DTC protocol. The FIX support Sierra Chart has, is for very specific services and implementations.
