Does anyone know how to get an accurate Volume profile and volume point of control for 20 trading sessions....there is an issue with SC where it only gives you days...therefore it will shorten the actual time because it counts saturday as a day...

it is the same problem if you use volume value area lines....it only gives the option for days..which includes saturday...

an examplke would be lets say you are looking on tuesday for the prior 5 day volume profile instead of the volume profile showing data from wednesday to monday it will show thursday to monday....this is because it counts staurday as a day.

love to hear if anyone has a work around for this

The solution to this is to set an Intraday chart to 1 Day Per Bar and to have the Volume Graph Period Type with the Volume by Price study using one of the "Bar Count" settings which would need to be set to 20.

Actually thinking about it, yes that would be the correct option. We were not thinking of that but that is the right way to do this.

Here is the relevant information:

Set your "Volume Graph Period Type" to "One Period At End of Fixed Time Length - Auto Skip Empty Days". Then set the time period to 20 days. This will give you a 20 trading day volume profile.

Refer to the following:
Volume By Price Study: One Period at End of Fixed Time Length - Auto-Skip Empty Days

We are seeing a correct result, with the volume profile starting today at September 7 18:00 US Eastern time. And the trading day date for that is the following day. So if you count the days it is exactly 20.

Still, we want to look at the calculations and verify how all of this works to make sure it will be correct under all conditions. But it may not work perfectly under all conditions. There is another alternative and we will explain that later today.

today is a perfect example in CL if you use 5 full day/trading session volume profiles ...counting sunday as a seperate day..and merge the profiles you will see that the volume point of control is 82.67 yet if i use the volume profile the way we have set it up the volume point of control is 86.10 which is impossible based on the data
