I've tried looking through the relative volume study documentation and a lot of the support board posts but I still can't seem to find it. I'm trying to see the relative volume as a % at the current time of day. I know that the RVOL compares it to candles with the same starting time, but it doesn't compare it to the same current time. What I mean: I want to see how much volume the current session has done from market open up to the current time compared to the average of the past X number of periods up to the current time in those past X sessions. eg. Today's volume from market open to the current time (11:37am) is 90, and the average volume of the past 5 days from market open to the current time (11:37am) is 100, so the RVOL % at same time would show me 90%. How can I do this automatically without having to constantly manually check it? |

There is not a simple way to do this - meaning there is no built-in study that will do this automatically. And we can not think of a way to do this. It may be possible to do with the Spreadsheet Study, but a lot of it depends on what hours you want to use to accumulate the volumes. If this is something you want to do overnight (starting at the previous evening open, for instance) then that makes it much harder, as you have to be careful with how you handle the times.
