I have monitoring charts (NQ and ES) running on a 2nd Sierra instance, but place trades (NQ and ES) using charts on the main instance. Is it possible to have trades placed from the main instance show up (trade mode set to 'on') on the 2nd instance charts? |

Is this a Sub-Instance (opened using File >> New Instance)? Or is this a completely separate installation? If this is a completely separate installation, then are both installations connected to the same trading account? For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Both instances are connected to "Sim 1" at the moment. |

>> Yes. This is a 2nd instance created using the New Instance command. In this case, as long as the Sub-Instance is not in "Simulation Mode" then the trades should show up in that instance just like the main instance. The Parent instance is in Sim mode (and account is Sim 1). 2nd instance is also in Sim mode and account is Sim 1. Trades placed in Parent instance are not shown in 2nd instance for same instrument (symbol). "Show Orders and Position" and "Chart Trade Mode On" both checked for chart in parent and 2nd instance. Taking 2nd instance chart out of Sim mode shows account as my live brokerage account, so Sim trades placed in parent instance Sim mode chart do not show up in 2nd instance chart. (Nor would I expect them to.) I suspect that Sim mode trades do not carry across instances? I may try using the "SC Trade Sim" environment to see if I can get trades to propagate across instances. |

Update - Sadly, using the Sierra Trading Evaluator feature to ensure that the same trading account is used across both parent and sub-instance also fails to propagate trades from parent to sub. FWIW, I am running rev 2528 of Sierra. |

You have to be a bit careful, but this can be done. The main thing to keep in mind is that the sub-instance can not be in Simulation Mode itself, or it will not pick up any information from the main instance. Whatever trading you are doing in the Main Instance, you need to replicate that in the sub-instance, meaning that you need to have the same Trade Account. So if you are using Trade Simulation Mode in the Main Instance with a Sim1 account, then the sub-instance needs to NOT be in Simulation Mode (otherwise it just looks for its own information) and that the Trading Window for the charts where you want to get the data from the Main Instance are set to the Sim1 trading account. The same is true for the Trading Evaluator. Whatever account you are using the Main Instance needs to be selected in the Sub-Instance. Refer to the following for how to select a Trade Account: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
